Dr. Filip Muysoms, MD, PhD is an abdominal wall surgeon at AZ Maria Middelares, in Ghent, Belgium. He specializes in minimally invasive hernia repair using robotic platforms. He is a proctor and teacher of surgeons adopting robotic assisted hernia repair in Europe, leading the hernia surgery training at the ORSI Academy in Ghent, Belgium. Scientifically he is promoting two PhD projects on robotic hernia repair in collaboration with the University of Ghent. Dr Muysoms is the current president of the European Hernia Society and president elect of the Royal Belgian Surgical Society.
